Conferences - CALL FOR PAPERSThe Criminal Pursuit: Thinking about crime across the disciplinesAn Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Conference - Wednesday, 28 November 2007Mens Rea’s Sixth Annual Postgraduate Conference The Criminal Pursuit is a one-day interdisciplinary conference organized by and for postgraduate students. It aims to provide a supportive environment in which participants can share their work and exchange ideas. All papers will be considered, however, those addressing the relationship between the pursuit of crime and any of the following perspectives are particularly welcomed:
Mens Rea (The University of Melbourne Postgraduate Criminology Society) invites postgraduate students from a range of disciplines to submit abstracts for the conference. Abstracts should be no more than 150 words, and submissions must include three key words, name of institution, postal address, phone number and email address.

How to Get There: The Criminology Department is on the 4th Floor, 234 Queensberry Street (corner of Leicester Street), a 5 minute walk from the main campus. See the map on the next page. Trams from the city to Queensberry Street leave from Swanston and Elizabeth Streets. Travelling on the Swanston Street tram, get off at Queensberry Street and turn left into Queensberry Street, travelling on the Elizabeth Street tram, get off at Queensberry Street and turn right into Queensberry Street. Presentations: Presenters will speak for 15 minutes followed by 5 minutes for questions. Papers should have significance to criminology, and link up with issues of social control, social norms or culture. Submissions must include:
Panels: Presentations will be divided into panels. All Panels will be held in Seminar Rooms 419 and 420 on the Fourth Floor. Food: Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea will be served in the Foyer on Level 4. If you have any questions during the day, feel free to approach any of the Mens Rea committee members – they’re the ones with the purple badges.
