Are you experiencing difficulties with your studies?

Many people do not associate a range of conditions with having a disability. Disabilities can include specific conditions such as epilepsy, chronic fatigue, diabetes, dyslexia, long-term medical conditions, and mental health issues along with other traditionally identified conditions such as vision, hearing and physical impairments including short term or temporary conditions.

The University of Melbourne provides services which can accommodate the needs of people whose disability adversely effects their study. Adjustments can be negotiated which assist such students to study and be assessed in a more equal environment. Such adjustments can include alternative assessment arrangements that accommodate the effects of the above conditions e.g. specific exam venues, additional times, scribes, using computer software, exams in alternative formats (tape, large-print, braille, digital), etc.

If you wish to know more about these services, please contact the Disability Liaison Unit (DLU), Tel: 8344 7068, email: DLU-enquiries@unimelb.edu.au or visit the Disability Liaison Unit online.

For help on other issues, visit the criminology student help page.
